Ronnie Pusong, DVM
Veterinarian
I was born in the Philippines and grew up surrounded by many dogs and cats. Every summer I would spent my vacation on my grandparents farm. This help prepare me for a career in Veterinary Medicine. Although, growing up architecture was my first love and I had thought about following in my father’s footsteps. Life had a different plan for me and the rest is history. I’ve been fortunate enough to work in many different fields of the profession. My early years as a vet were spent in small animal practice, as well as nutritional research for farm animals. Later on, I also worked as a swine and poultry practitioner, a technical person for Rhone Poulenc, now Merial. Even, a dairy practitioner in Saudi Arabia for 7 years. During that time, I also had the opportunity to work for the Ministry of Agriculture of Saudi Arabia as a quarantine officer in their northern border with Iraq. I migrated to Canada in 1994 and became licensed here. I worked briefly in a mixed animal practice in Manitoba but eventually decided to go back to Toronto. Here I have been in small animal practice for the last 29 years. 16 years of that as a practice owner and medical director. Being a practice owner has been one of the highlights of my career but after 16 years , I have decided to shift my focus. I want to time to really focus more on my patients and the practice of medicine. Through the years, I’ve been fortunate and blessed to have work with many wonderful people and now that I am a part of SAH, I’m very happy to be working with another awesome team.
